【摘要】:Thesetestmethodsareintendedtocompileaswellasprovidescreeningtestsinevaluatingclearandpigmentedlacquersasusedindifferentcoatingoperations.Eachcoatingsystemmaycontainfromasimpleonecoatoperationtoamulticoatfinishingsystem.Thesubstratesmaybevaried,ferrousandnonferrous,plasticorwoodwhichcanaffecttheperformanceofagivencoatingsystem.Substratecleaning,chemicallyorphysically,isanessentialandcriticalaspecttotheperformanceofthecoatingsystem.Resultsfromthevarioustestsarenotnecessarilyallusefulinevaluatingtheperformanceofthedifferenttypesofcoatingsystemsusedonthemanyvariedsubstrates.1.1Thesetestmethodscoverproceduresfortestinglacquersandlacquercoatings.ThetestmethodsincludedarelistedinTable1.Note1-InaccordancewithTerminologyD16,alacquerisdefinedasacoatingcompositionthatisbasedonsyntheticthermoplasticfilmformingmaterialdissolvedinorganicsolvent(s)andthatdriesprimarilybysolventevaporation.Typicallacquersincludethosebasedonnitrocellulose,othercellulosederivatives,vinylresins,acrylicresins,etc.Note2-Lacquersmaybeappliedundersuchdiverseconditions,tosomanydifferentsurfaces,andtheirdriedfilmsmaybesubjectedtosomanykindsofwearandexposurethatitisnotpossibletoassuredesiredperformancefromasingleselectionoftestmethodsandnumericalresultstherefrom.Thoseskilledinlacquertechnologymayfindpartialassuranceofobtainingdesiredqualitiesinvarioustypesoflacquersthroughcarefulselectionofthemethodscoveredhereinandintelligentinterpretationofresultstherefrom.Note3-ItisintendedultimatelytoremoveallexperimentalproceduresfromTestMethodsD333andtoestablishthemasaguidetotheselectionoftestmethodsforlacquerandperhapstointerpretationofresultstherefrom.TemporarilythereremaininTestMethodsD333afewteststhataretooshortorotherwisepresentlyunsuitableforestablishmentunderseparateASTMdesignations.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
