【摘要】:Thistestmethodprovidesameansofmonitoringthesulfurlevelofvariouspetroleumproductsandadditives.Thisknowledgecanbeusedtopredictperformance,handling,orprocessingproperties.Insomecasesthepresenceofsulfurcompoundsisbeneficialtotheproductandmonitoringthedepletionofsulfurcanprovideusefulinformation.Inothercasesthepresenceofsulfurcompoundsisdetrimentaltotheprocessingoruseoftheproduct.pid="s00002">1.1Thistestmethodcoversthreeproceduresforthedeterminationoftotalsulfurinpetroleumproductsincludinglubricatingoilscontainingadditives,andinadditiveconcentrates.Thistestmethodisapplicabletosamplesboilingabove177x00B0;C(350x00B0;F)andcontainingnotlessthan0.06mass%sulfur.Twoofthethreeproceduresuseiodatedetection;oneemployinganinductionfurnaceforpyrolysis,theotheraresistancefurnace.ThethirdprocedureusesIRdetectionfollowingpyrolysisinaresistancefurnace.1.2Petroleumcokecontainingupto8mass%sulfurcanbeanalyzed.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
